Kozhikoden Halwa!



HISTORY OF KOZHIKKODEN HALWA


It was believed to be introduced by Arabs landed in Kerala for the spice trade hundreds of years

before. They gifted this delicacy to the then ruler , Zamorins of Kozhikode, which then became

an integral part of food history of Kozhikode.

The name Halwa comes from the Arab word called 'Hulw' which means sweet.

Kozhikode (Same as Calicut  as British called) situated in Kerala State, South India
