The flat fan pattern functions like a line of spray, with a higher impact than
full or hollow cone patterns, but not as high as a solid stream nozzle.
Droplet sizes produced by this nozzle are larger than cone nozzles,
although certain air atomizing flat fan nozzles can produce very fine droplets.
To cover an area, a flat fan nozzle requires some form of relative motion,
often achieved by a conveyor moving products under a series of flat fan sprays.
Alternatively, the nozzle itself can be in motion to ensure complete coverage.
